Mixed Prints for Starters
8:00 AMIf I remember it correctly, I believe it was in 2012 when the trend print-on-print or mixed prints came about. Since then, it has made wearing bold fashion choices much easier and more accessible for everyone because as long as you've got two or more prints that work together, you're good to go. But how exactly do prints work together and what is the easiest way to pull off the mixed print trend if you've never tried it before?
For starters, you can play with trying on two printed pieces together. Figuring out which printed pieces go together means looking for something that is common between the two. Prints that match either come in the same design or same color scheme.
Print-on-print might be a little bit overwhelming at first, so I always suggest finding pieces in the same color scheme. Take the outfit I have on right now, which sticks to the color scheme of black and white. The colors are what tied the two printed pieces together.
TIP: Try to have at least once solid colored piece incorporated into your look so as not to end up with such an overwhelming outfit, especially if you aren't ready for that kind of leap yet. :)
The ZOO coat itself already had various prints like houndstooth, stripes, and chevron, but the fact that it came in black and white made it easier for me to find another piece to pair it with. I simply paired it with a horizontal stripe patterned top, making the whole outfit flow as if it were one beautiful black-and-white chaos. ;)
After a few tries and matching prints together, you'll actually eventually get the hang of it and really start having an eye for prints and patterns that match. Try it yourself and let me know how it goes! :)

Hi Megann! I'm a fan of mixing prints too, especially black and white. I think those colors can get away with anything! That being said, I really like your outfit. That Zoo coat is all sorts of pretty. :)
