1:07 AMOne of the things I love about dressing up is that you can become whoever you want to be. It's simply the game of "dress up" that you used to play when you were younger; only now, you actually fit into those high heels and your mom's clothes aren't eating you up anymore. And the best part about blogging is that you get to document what you've dressed up as! Regardless if it was inspired or just a spur-of-the-moment sort of thing, each day is always a different story.
Today, I'm playing "yuppie with a hidden agenda"! :)
Yuppie is a slang term that means 'young urban professional'. This usually pertains to the upper middle class in their 20s and 30s. While I'm still only in my early 20s (read: forever 21), I guess I might as well fall into that age range.
I only received this pair of coral platforms with chunky heels the day before this photo was taken and I was beyond thrilled about this purchase from Chick Flick Collection. Seriously, the store is becoming a favorite of mine! So you can only imagine how much I was looking forward to wearing it the next day.
Dad took these photos BTW! I did the post-processing. What do you think? :)
As for the "with a hidden agenda" part of my character, I just thought it would be a quirky touch to wear pink instead of the boring corporate "usuals" in order to inject some youthfulness about this look. If you've noticed, I use the "pop of color" trick a lot of times to make my looks young, because YES, COLOR HELPS! :) Plus, I wanted something fuss-free and easy to move around in so the oversized tank top was also a perfect match!
Added my Bubbles tassel necklace for an instant dab of fab... and viola! Say hello to yuppie with a hidden agenda!
Vise-versa pink blazer | Mossimo oversized tank top | vintage (mom's) dress pants | bag from cousin | SM Accessories belt | Bubbles tassel necklace | Chick Flick chunky heels
You might've noticed that I took down the giveaway badge on my right sidebar. Soul Sister Clothing and I are making some adjustments to the giveaway because YES, WE WANT YOU TO WIN! So stay tuned because it's going to be easier and there's going to be more prizes for you! ;)
