Loosin' Up for Buffet Wednesday
10:22 PMTruth be told, it’s always better to shoot outfit photos with natural lighting/outdoors. I think most fashion bloggers or people who fancy an outfit photo would agree with me. Based on experience, I find that my photos turn out best when I shoot around 7 a.m. or 3-4 p.m.—I guess mister sun just decides to compliment clothes during those times.
So during days when I have plans only at night, it’s always a struggle to try and find good lighting especially when a lot of establishments have the yellow-ish light {which I’m trying to grasp the name of right now; I forgot}. So that poses some challenges for adjusting the white balance and possibly post-processing.
Of course I wouldn’t want to appear too yellow or orange because I’m not a fruit. Although it would be interesting to read a fruit fashion blog. Haha!
Onwards!
Thank you so much to my bebeh since 7th grade, Alyssa, for patiently taking my outfit photos despite struggling with the lighting!
Tidbit: I prefer not to use the flash as much as possible. I just feel that using the built-in flash would not do justice to my outfit shots {or most of my photos, for that matter}.
What about you—what time do you prefer to shoot {outfit} photos? Do you have a “default” location?
Anyway, hope you all have a great day! Keep checking back for more updates. I’ve got great news I’ll be sharing with you soon!

I agree with you Megann! I really love taking my outfit shots outside when the sun's still up. :)

soo pretty!i like your top!
ReplyDeleteJust a tip: you're shooting at f/8. Shoot at 15mm and at f/3.5, and you'll get better results in indoor/low-light. Oh and that yellowish lighting is called 'tungsten' so set your camera white balance to the bulb looking logo.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Oh and I meant to say 18mm not 15.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous: TUNGSTEN! There! Yes, thank you for the tip. :)
