As summer draws closer, the challenge to put together something decent for work seems to be more and more like an unpleasant chore. In a previous blog post, I suggested stocking up on lightweight clothing. Another thing you can also do is to make your basics work for the office by dressing them up. Basics like your white button-down or even a while loose/flowy top can easily be dressed up with a touch of bling. You can also choose from other neutral tones like beige, tan, or black, as these shades can easily be transformed into something chic.

But how can I wear basics to work without looking underdressed? A simple loose top like this high-low pullover from Renouveau Manila paired with your best-fitting jeans perfectly balances casual with chic. Raise the bar higher with a nice pair of heels.

Adding a little twist to the look, I also used Renouveau Manila's Solace Fit Clip to give the top some shape as it is quite boxy. They also offer this in different colors, designs, and length, which you can use to match your look!

Lastly, I've chosen one statement accessory to top off the look. Does the chunky "pearl" necklace remind you of someone? Caroline Channing from 2 Broke Girls! And the rest, I kept subtle and consistent in gold like the watch, the thin ring, and the bag with a gold chain.

Fuss-free and easy going - exactly how we all like dressing up during summertime. Throw on a blazer if you need to. But otherwise, you're pretty much set! ;)

What does your summer office wardrobe look like?
