As we near the dreaded day that is Monday, what are your most cherished memories from this weekend? I suppose mine would actually be a mixture of events that happened over the past few days - one would be being able to complete Bikram Yoga Alabang's 4x4 Challenge, and the other, watching Starting Over Again earlier with my cousin.
On both counts, I learned the value of learning to channel your energy where it will matter and bear positive outcome. At times, we get stuck at channeling our energy into things that no longer serve us well. Maybe at one point, we did get some good out of it. But after a while, things change and we change, but we refuse to let go because "that's how things have always been". That's what we're familiar with. And then, we complain that we're going nowhere; nothing is happening.
Sometimes we don't even realize that we're the ones holding us back. There is a quote I keep stumbling upon - "You can't keep doing the same thing everyday and expect different results." True enough, it is only when you allow yourself to welcome change that change actually happens. It doesn't always have to be a drastic turn in your life, but with the little things you are ready to adjust, you can already do so much for yourself.

Accepting that there are things in our lives that have already stopped serving its purpose can be hard, especially when it's something we're used to or something we hold dear. But growth comes when you step out of the tiny box you've tried to fit yourself in; growth comes when you push back the curtains to let the sun in and see what's out there; growth comes when you learn to channel your energy into things that nurture you.
Go for it! :)
