You can create a million different illusions when it comes to dressing up. Whether you want to highlight or conceal a part of your body, you can do so with the right color, print, and/or cut. I personally enjoy playing with colors and cut the most. It’s all about finding pieces you are comfortable with and working your way to wear it as opposed to it wearing you.

Another newfound tactic of mine is wearing clothes with piping or piped bias—those are wonderfully structured pieces with an accent fabric that goes down and across the garment. It directs the eyes of the view towards a certain way to create an illusion that is favorable to the wearer.

Piping or piped bias isn’t new at all. It just so happened that this is the first time I am wearing a piece like this. I am amazed at how this dress managed to give me the curves in all the right places, while cutting me off at a length that elongates my legs. What a winning situation!
