After what was known as 'National Events Day', I slept over at Bean's condo. This was kind of impromptu, but also convenient as it was close to where the Multiply event was held. My brother picked me up and dropped me off there. He also had my things with him--and since this was pretty last-minute, I just had my mom pick out a few shirts to have my brother bring so that I'd have clothes to wear.

You rarely see me in shirts, so excuse this very slouchy look.

I ate my way through the morning with Bean, downing breakfast, morning merienda, lunch, and dessert within the span of 3 hours! First was McDonald's take-out, which I don't have a photo of. But I had their Longganisa meal and half of the Hamdesal. Then, out of a sudden craving for milk tea, Bean and I walked to Toastbox for some milk tea and chocolate toast.

I loved their milk tea!! I have always been a fan of milk tea since my first try at it in Soms Noodle House.

The Chocolate Toast is a bit too chocolate-y for me, but I'm pretty sure it's great for those who love chocolate! Hate me now for not liking chocolate, ha ha!

After this morning merienda, guess what was up next? LUNCH! What?! Right away?? YES!

We headed off to Serendra with my brother to look for a place to eat. And to continue satisfying our Asian taste buds, Wee Nam Kee was the restaurant of choice! It was my first time there, but I'm sure it won't be the last.

Their Chicken Rice--which is a combination of steamed and roasted chickens--is definitely one that's closest to that Hainanese Lemon Chicken my family and I tasted in a small food house during our visit in Singapore some time in early 2000. I have to tell you, we were completely obsessed with it that we ate there at least once each day! Though my brother said he couldn't find it anymore during his recent trip to Singapore. :( I'm glad he took me to Wee Nam Kee for this!

The Cereal Prawn is absolutely new to me. The medium-sized prawns are definitely a mouthful as well as flavorful! It has just the right amount of sweetness, without taking anything from the taste of the prawns itself.

And we had the chili sauce, crushed ginger, and soy sauce to complement the dishes we got!

I couldn't wait--I just had to dive right in! Please excuse me having absolutely no make-up on and looking like a farmer's daughter... or a bad version of it! I told you, that stay at Bean's was so last-minute, this is the shirt I end up with. Then again, the laid back outfit allowed for much chow-ing! ;)

At the end of this lunch, we were very much full! But of course, a small dessert was in order. So after walking around a bit, we 'happened to' pass Cupcakes by Sonja and they had me try the Red Velvet cupcake.

Can I just comment on how photo-friendly this place is?? I think I'd love to do outfit photos here! And then end up eating a bunch of cupcakes after. Teehee!

Not a big fan of anything that's too sweet, but I loved the Red Velvet Vixen! Of course I had to eat less of the 'frosting', but that's just me.

Thank you so much to Bean and my brother for this mini-date! I badly needed to see the world outside of my bedroom. Ha ha ha!

I can't get over how the place itself looks good enough to eat! How is that even possible??

I'm not a food blogger, but did I make you all hungry now? ;) He he. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Philippine Fashion Week is here! I'll be attending the SM Ladies' Fashion and Oxygen fashion shows! See you there? :)

  1. You had such a great time, and let's not go into the food details! I'm envious of all the yummy food you all had! Your right, Sonja's Cupcake store would be a great venue for outfit posts, hahaha. Wouldn't that be great and we get to eat the cupcakes too ;) - Mar
